Prizes

There is a total prize pool of $14,000. The winner of the Australian House of the Year Award will receive a $5,000 cash prize. Each award category offers a $1,000 cash prize.

There are four levels of award recognition – Australian House of the Year, award winners, commendations and shortlisted entries.

  • Australian House of the Year – the project that demonstrates the highest level of achievement within the awards entries, in accordance with the judging criteria.
  • A Category Award is given to the project (or projects) that demonstrates the highest level of achievement within the category, in accordance with the judging criteria.
  • A Commendation is given for projects that demonstrate high standards of achievement within their category, in accordance with the judging criteria.
  • Projects that are shortlisted will receive the use of the Houses Awards logo for printed and promotional materials (on request). Approximately one third of entries are shortlisted.

All awarded, commended and shortlisted projects will receive a certificate and the use of the Houses Awards logo for printed and promotional materials (on request).
