Shortlist: New House over 200 square metres
Claire Humphreys + Kevin O'Brien Architects for Jule House
The house engages the vertical site of steep terrain, trunks and canopy through an amalgam of internalised forms, land cuts and outdoor rooms that intersect and define one another. Framing devices, from the scale of the shutter to the building, edit out eight neighbours whilst appropriating the suburban backyard forest.
