Shortlist: House Alteration and Addition over 200 square metres
DFJ Architects for Neal & Shirley's
This 1957 beachfront pavilion was restored and reinterpreted as a simple compact home with a new guest and services wing added. By opening up an enclosed fernery with a decorative screen, a framed view of the monumental stone chimney is revealed, and a bridge between old and new created.
